# Following are some of the ["strategic and tactical guidelines"] that this Cardinal believes in:
CARDINAL Rule:
1. Preparation Precedes Performance (Check out my entry on the Nine Axions of Preparation)
2. Strategy is Dao
Learn the Fundamentals. Understand the technical analysis behind the game . Play the cyclic game.
3. Think and understand in terms of the Grand Scope of things
4. Think and understand the "Martial" aspect of achieving the Grand Scope
5. Think and understand the "Leadership" aspect of achieving the Grand Scope
6. Think and understand the "Logistics" aspect of achieving the Grand Scope.
7. Think and understand the "Tactical essentials" that are needed to achieve the Grand Scope.
8. Think and understand the "Tactical specifics" that are needed to achieve the Grand Scope.
9. View Forward and Reason Backward
10. Focus on hitting the long target without compromising the guidelines that support your goal of hitting the target.
The longer the game is, the greater emphasis is in the understanding of the strategic means, not in the tactical means. ... If the goal of the game can be completed immediately without compromising any aspect of the goal and strategic objectives, the timing of the tactical execution becomes the essential.
11. Eliminate non-essential things around you.
"Simplify, Minimize and Optimize" (SMO) your internal and external settings.
12. Focus on achieving the target while mind your settings (Small Dao and Grand Dao)

Very interesting blog there. I see you are from the bay area as well. I will keep reading as long as you keep posting.
Luvrgrl,
What part of the SF Bay Area are you from? ...
Until I complete the next big thing, I am not going to post anything that is irrelevant. Unless there is something that you are interested in reading. ...
Always believe in the importance of completing long term goals while delaying low priority gratification. :)
